ICC 2011World Cup Final Preview

The world will witness a new ODI Cricket world champion when India will take on Sri Lanka at Mumbai on 02-04-2011 in the final of the ICC world cup 2011.This final will ensure that a new world champion will be crowned after the end of dominance by Australia.
Though India will be definitely the favorite to life the trophy Sri Lanka by no means are underdogs. Like India Sri Lanka too have strong batting line ups supported by experienced bowling attack, a blend of superior quality of pace and spin.
Great batsman Sachin Tendulkar will try to end up his illustrious ODI career on the side of being world champion.
For India a lots will depend upon their opening batsman followed by strong middle order line up. Luck had always played a vital part for India in this tournament and will look forward to carry the same in the ultimate match.
On the other hand Sri Lanka will leave no stone unturned to win this trophy to give spin wizard Murlitharan a memorable farewell from international arena.

India vs Pakistan Semi Final World cup 2011Match Preview

After the lukewarm matches, now comes the real match of the ICC 2011 World Cup when host nation and Favorite India will take on another pre host nation and its arch rival Pakistan in the semi final at Mohali on 30th of March in a day night encounter.

The match is important from diplomatic point of view as the Premier of Pakistan nation is coming to witness the match along with Indian Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh.

India will rely upon its all inform batsman specially Tendulkar to score his 100th ODI Century and middle order batsman Yuvraj who is having dream run in this tournament to make it easy and secured victory for India. Other batsman like Virat Kohli and Suresh Raina who was given chance in the last match against Australia are also expected t make important contribution.

Though bowling was the worrying factor for India but the bowlers have come well in the last match signaling that they are back in form.

On the other side the unpredictable Pakistan will try to settle the score by winning the maiden win against India in the world cup. So far they have been beaten every time by India in the world cup. Their main strength is their bowling with spinner and Captain Afridi leading from the front.

Their main worry is their opening pair which has failed every time in this tournament except against the West Indies. At the same time none of their batsman has scored over 250 runs so far in the tournament. So they will look forward to utilize this opportunity as its today or never like situation.

Again India will be under pressure of home ground and huge expectations of the home crowd.

ICC World cup First Quarter Final Review

Pakistan will take on West Indies in the first Quarter final of world cup 2011 in Sri Lanka. Pakistan stunned defending champion Australia to break the 34 match record win in the group league.

Though Pakistan will start as favorite in this match, but like its name the great game of cricket full of uncertainty and unpredictability, Pakistan too is the most volatile and unpredictable cricket playing nation. The same tag is applicable to the West Indies also. Hence this match will be match of uncertainty and unpredictable.

For Pakistan it is the high time that their openers perform well in this match. Today or never is like the situation for them. Similarly so far their Captain Sahid Afridi has not done anything that he is known for. So he too will look forward to score some runs .

From West Indies side before the beginning of the tournament much have been spoken by their former captain and the opening batsman Chris Gayle about scoring centuries or double centuries against the minnows to break the record of Sachin Tendulkar. But he is still a total failure so far in this tournament. So he will definitely look forward to seize this opportunity. For Pakistan they have to do very good bowling mainly by their spinners and get help from the spin friendly wicket of Sri Lanka.

Clemson UNC Asheville advance with victories

Clemson moving on to the NCAA Tournament second round with No. 5 seed West Virginia on Thursday in Tampa. Asheville were to win NCAA tournament games, there was no time to celebrate. Clemson defeated Alabama-Birmingham 70-52 in the first round of the NCAA tournament Tuesday.

Jerai Grant said: "Rest is going to be a big factor for us." "We'll do the best we can to put a plan together and try to execute," said coach Brad Brownell. Jerai Grant scored a career-best 22 points and the fast-starting Tigers built a double-figure lead and never backed off in beating Alabama-Birmingham 70-52 on Tuesday. Clemson won’t have much time to enjoy its first victory in the tournament since 1997.

Pitt is the No. 1 seed in the Southeast Region. UNC Asheville pulled it out with a tournament-worthy performance by its best player. The Bulldogs led for only 51 seconds in regulation, before Dickey asserted himself. Bozeman said: "Dickey made some big plays coming off ball screens." Johnson had six points, seven assists, four rebounds, two steals and six turnovers before leaving the game. Clemson consistently pounded the ball into its big men in the first half, scoring 28 points in the paint and skipping the option of shooting from the outside.

Pakistan vs New Zealand match a Preview


New Zealand will clash with Pakistan in the Group A match at Pallekele Ground in Sri Lanka on Wednesday. The match will be a day night match and more important for New Zealand to win to secure their place or in other words get higher rank in their group.

Australia has won their 2 matches they played so far while Sri Lanka lost the important match against Pakistan. So it will be an important match for Sri Lanka to win to stay on the top in group A.
For Australia it is very important that their skipper Ricky Ponting return among the runs. They will depend upon their batsman Shane Watson, Michael Clarke, David Hussey and Cameron White to put up a good score for Lankan to chase or they play sensibly if they bat second. Their fast bowlers are expected to get some assist from the wicket.
