ICC World cup First Quarter Final Review

Pakistan will take on West Indies in the first Quarter final of world cup 2011 in Sri Lanka. Pakistan stunned defending champion Australia to break the 34 match record win in the group league.

Though Pakistan will start as favorite in this match, but like its name the great game of cricket full of uncertainty and unpredictability, Pakistan too is the most volatile and unpredictable cricket playing nation. The same tag is applicable to the West Indies also. Hence this match will be match of uncertainty and unpredictable.

For Pakistan it is the high time that their openers perform well in this match. Today or never is like the situation for them. Similarly so far their Captain Sahid Afridi has not done anything that he is known for. So he too will look forward to score some runs .

From West Indies side before the beginning of the tournament much have been spoken by their former captain and the opening batsman Chris Gayle about scoring centuries or double centuries against the minnows to break the record of Sachin Tendulkar. But he is still a total failure so far in this tournament. So he will definitely look forward to seize this opportunity. Another player who will be the key is their dependable Sarwan along with Chanderpaul.Pollard will be a worrying factor for the opponent. Their bowling will depend a lot upon the fast bowler Roach.

For Pakistan they have to do very good bowling mainly by their spinners and get help from the spin friendly wicket of Sri Lanka.
It will be a day night match and Pakistan will have a slight edge over West Indies.
