Accenture Match Play Championship 2011 broadcast on NBC Sports

The top 64 players in the world will battle for the Walter Hagen Cup. For 2009, the tournament moved to the Ritz-Carlton Golf Club, a Jack Nicklaus-designed course at Dove Mountain in Marana. Tiger Woods still No. 3 in the world ranking, although having done nothing the past year, was beaten by Thomas Bjorn 1 up on the 19th hole in the opening round. Lee Westwood, Martin Kaymer, and Phil Mickelson all moved on to the next round. Local favorite, Jim Furyk lost his match to American Ryan Palmer.
