World Superbike Championship 2011 Phillip Island Grand Prix Circuit Preview

2011 Superbike World Championship season will be the 24th season of the Superbike World Championship. It will begin on 27 February at Phillip Island and will finish on 16 October in Portimão after 13 rounds.

The 2011 World Superbike championship kicks off on February 27 at Phillip Island.Biaggi will be teamed with Leon Camier who scored three podium appearances and eight top-five finishes in 2010.

Phillip Island Grand Prix Circuit is a motor racing racing circuit on Phillip Island, Victoria, Australia. The circuit was opened in 1956.In 2006 and 2007, Phillip Island hosted the grand finale of the V8 Supercars Championship Series, as well as a regular MotoGP and Superbike round. In 2008, Phillip Island hosted the L&H 500, replacing Sandown as the host track of V8 Supercar's 500 km race.

The 2010 season ended with a first World title for italian Max Biaggi and his Aprilia team. World Superbike champion Max Biaggi remains with the Aprilia Alitalia Racing Team for 2011. Kawasaki will be looking to challenge with the new 2011 version of the ZX-10R with a three-rider line-up of former MotoGP racer Chris Vermeulen, Tom Sykes and Joan Lascorz. BMW will have four S1000RR superbikes on the grid with Troy Corser and Leon Haslam on the factory team and James Toseland and Ayrton Badovini on the BMW Motorrad Italia team.

Aprilia, Honda and Yamaha will be the teams to fight consistently for this year's riders and manufacturers championships. Josh Waters on the Yoshimuar Suzuki, Michel Fabrizio will have the Japanese giant’s hopes on his shoulders in 2011.
